FAQs

When it comes to getting married, there can be a lot that’s new! To help provide some clarification and insight into how it all works, I’ve answered a few of the most frequently asked questions my couples have.

Question not here? Get in touch and I’ll happily answer any additional questions you may have.

  • I usually open my books around 18 months out. It’s mandatory (unless for certain special circumstances) that you give at least one month’s notice on your legal marriage paperwork.

Other than that, it’s really up to the Celebrant on how far in advance they feel comfortable booking weddings.

  • That is a big yes! I am pro marriage equality and stand up for all of the people on the rainbow spectrum.

  • Unless you meet one of the special circumstances for a 'shortening of time', you need to give a minimum of one month’s notice to get married. This is done by completing the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form with your Celebrant.

  • Can do! My exclusive client portal has a great guide to writing your own vows. And I'm happy to run my eyes over them to check they match each other in length and content.

  • Nup! There is no legal requirement to include gendered terms in your wedding. I am guided by you and what suits you best.

  • EEK! This would be the pits BUT life happens. The good news is that all my preparation and documents can be very easily transferred over to another celebrant. I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful group of celebrants so I would do everything possible to make sure someone was there for you on the day.

  • Yes indeed! As long as you have the identification required (passport is easiest) and give enough time on the NOIM (one month) then you absolutely can.

  • I am all good to travel! I will let you know any additional fees, which may include petrol, flights and accommodation, depending on the distance from my hometown of Adelaide, South Australia.

  • Absolutely! With nearly a decade in the wedding industry, I have seen, and worked with, so many quality vendors. I am happy to share my little black book of awesome vendors with you at any time!
